Organic Sencha Green Tea

Our sencha green tea combines notes of earthiness and fruitiness. Like many sencha teas, these leaves are steamed immediately after plucking to reduce oxidation and retain the flavor and color.

This green tea is often enjoyed both hot and cold.

Unlike most black teas, sencha is best brewed at a lower temperature and shorter duration. Aiming for a water temperature of 170º F (just when the water starts to simmer) and letting it steep for approximately 30 seconds will result in a fresher cup that reveals the fruity overtones. Brewing too hot or too long will result in a more bitter flavor.
